And I'll Have The Fillet, Black and Blue. Hold The Press, Hold The Bullshit

From my dear friend Dr Martin Roberts, enjoy.

Be Careful What You Wish For

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR

In much the same way as the 'Tommies' of 1914-18 turned to their copies of The Wipers Times for relief from the grim absurdity of their trench-bound circumstance, we in our intermittent moments of gloom have our own paper-based comforters. It must have been a comfort to the McCanns when John Bull's various rags adopted their conclusion that Madeleine had been skilfully extracted from the family's holiday apartment by agents of paedophilia. If the unbiased opinion of academics followed suit then it had to be right, didn’t it?

On behalf of the Telegraph, Caroline Gammell in Portimao and Nick Allen in Amsterdam, announced in August of 2008:

Madeleine McCann 'snatched by international paedophile ring'

'British police believe Madeleine McCann was snatched by an international paedophile ring after she was photographed three days before she vanished, files have disclosed.

'The concern was raised in an email sent by the Metropolitan Police's intelligence unit dealing with Clubs and Vice, CO14 on March 4 this year.

'It said: "Intelligence suggests that a paedophile ring in Belgium made an order for a young girl three days before Madeleine McCann was taken.

'"Somebody connected to this group saw Maddie, took a photograph of her and sent it to Belgium. The purchaser agreed that the girl was suitable and Maddie was taken."

'The astonishing revelation supports Kate and Gerry McCann's theory that their eldest child may have been taken by a child smuggling ring.

'Written by a police officer called John Shord, it was sent to DC John Hughes at Leicestershire Police and passed on to Portuguese detectives.'

Well, the story seems to have been something of a 'slow burner', but Mademoiselles Smith and Lazzeri each remained convinced nearly a year later, both publishing in May 2009, with Lazzeri turning to none other than a top criminologist, Professor David Canter, in support of her own faith in the McCann postulate.

Paedo Shame - News of the World

Anna Smith

'The more I hear about the Algarve, the sicker I feel. Investigators hunting for Madeleine McCann say the area is awash with paedophiles, with seven sex attacks on kids in the last 4 years.

'Perhaps that's why those thicko cops pointed the finger at the McCanns - by blaming them and moving on, nobody would dig up their dirt. They continue to ignore new evidence and hope what they always hoped - that this case would just go away.'

If Maddie is alive she may not answer to that name or remember who she was - The Sun

Britain's top criminologist Professor David Canter….

'After studying the case closely, Prof Canter, director of The Centre for Investigative Psychology at the University of Liverpool, concluded Maddie was taken by a gang of traffickers.

'She had been left in the family holiday apartment with her twin brother and sister Sean and Amelie while her parents went to dinner with friends.

'The professor said: "Child traffickers are very quick at hiding a child's identity. In one case they managed to drug a girl, dye her hair and dress her as a boy within an hour of taking her.

"She was quickly found in the arms of an abductor but her parents barely recognised her.

"I believe Maddie was skilfully targeted. It is very unlikely that someone would break into the apartment on the off-chance.

"I don't believe it was a lone paedophile. They're very unlikely to carry out a crime like this.

"Child trafficking is a growing, very profitable industry. There is a good chance Maddie is alive."

Eventually then, a degree of credibility is bestowed upon the McCann view. But is it a starred first, garnered through diligent research, or a hasty third scribbled after 'last orders' at the local?

Representatives of diverse religious communities have, as we know, spoken out recently in opposition to certain views expressed by Professor Richard Dawkins. It is a moot point as to whether they fear the wrath of their Gods more than the prospect of redundancy, but here is one of Dawkins' sage (and televised) comments concerning 'evidence':

"We must favour verifiable evidence over private feeling. Otherwise we leave ourselves vulnerable to those who would obscure the truth."

Dawkins' concern for the primacy of evidential argument is widely shared. One discovers, deep in vaults of the internet, such comments as the following:

"The Casa Pia court ruling has given fresh venom for all those primarily concerned with their disgust at Madeleine's parents. With no evidence to support their hatred, they are blind with rage and remain a fixated darker side to the internet that can only be usurped by the criminal activities of the paedophiles they willingly defend in preference to admitting to themselves that they are wholly wrong." (Dr Stein's Chaosraptors.com)

Venomous hatred is surely an emotional state of mind, hardly governed by 'evidence.' Unlike the author here I would rather only speak for myself, but my primary concern is not with my own disgust, however manifest. If it were I'd be in serious need of a 'shrink'. Nor does any failure on my part to admit that I am in error as regards my understanding of the McCann case, or anything else, imply that I am a willing defender of paedophiles. Like so many others, I am simply reluctant to accept an explanation of events for which there is no evidence, especially when there is evidence to support an alternative interpretation.

Anyway, so long as we're all agreed that evidence is paramount, let us turn now to the Sunday Express story of September 5.

Paedophile ring with link to Madeleine McCann jailed

By James Murray

"One of the abused boys, Pedro Namora, is now a lawyer and was a key witness in the case.

"He wants Portuguese detectives to continue their probe as he believes the ring may be connected to the disappearance of Madeleine at the Praia da Luz resort on the Algarve in May 2007."

In Dr Stein's opinion:

"This recent criminal convictions (sic) in Portugal opens up the question as to how endemic child abuse rings actually are, not just in Portugal but in other countries as well. The parents of missing British child Madeleine McCann will take little comfort in learning that such prominent figures have been involved with child abuse. In a somewhat guarded comment, Clarence Mitchell, the McCann's official spokesman said that they had been following this case but had found no link to Madeleine's disappearance and a paedophile gang."

Well, well, well.

So there are sophisticated paedophile networks operating in Portugal after all. It wasn't just a figment of the McCanns' imagination. How could they have guessed?

There is a hint here of the McCanns having pinned their theoretical prospects on something in the ether, which, now that it has been publicly distilled, has suddenly become a politically dangerous association, and one from which they are better off 'distanced'. Retreat brings with it its own problems however.

There is apparently no evidence of any link between the Casa Pia investigation, Madeleine's disappearance and a paedophile gang. Clarence says so. It must be true. But James Murray's 'header' clearly refers to the accused in the Case Pia case as having a link to Madeleine McCann (is that libellous?). Unless we've all been seriously misinformed, those prosecuted in Portugal were not simply 'linked' with a paedophile ring, they formed one. So the Mitchell claim here that there is nothing to link the Casa Pia case with a paedophile gang is nonsense. But is that part of what he said? Not really. Mitchell's remark appears to imply that there is no connection between the child molesters of Casa Pia notoriety with 'the gang', (i.e. another gang) that took Madeleine.

Are we here contemplating a paedophile analog of the mafia, with several 'families' in contention for the available business, or territories of abuse, defined like the protected 'trading patches' in the vicinity of football stadia known to have provoked 'hot dog wars' in the past? It all seems a bit extreme somehow, inclining to the rife end of the endemic spectrum. And yet... these are the words of a commentator after all - a paraphrase of some remark or other made by Clarence Mitchell, which could just as easily have taken the form employed by a genuine journalist, James Murray, in his on-line version of events published Sept. 5:

"Clarence Mitchell, spokesman for Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, said they had been closely following the Casa Pia case but did not have a lead linking Madeleine's disappearance to the paedophile ring."

On this view there is only one ring - the ring. And Madeleine's disappearance is not connected with it.

Since we know from the testimony of an acknowledged expert in his field that Madeleine would not have been taken by a 'lone wolf', the most reasonable conclusion to be drawn, based on the available evidence, is that Madeleine was not abducted by or on behalf of any paedophile whatsoever.

Which brings us necessarily to the question of motive. If someone abducts a child it is for a reason, and the case of missing Madeleine is unquestionably one of abduction, by definition (O.E.D: abduction, n. Illegal carrying off, esp. of a child, ward;). There can be no doubt in anyone's mind that Madeleine McCann, alive or dead, was illegally carried off. And now that we may dispense with the paedophile hypothesis as an obscuration of the truth, we can justifiably contemplate some alternative explanation(s) as to why, even at the risk of igniting venomous hatred.

The "Scum" Counters

I skimmed through this latest piece of trash from Sun hack and McCann creature, Antonella Lazzeri, and thought I really can't be bothered with any more of the Sun's nonsense, I'll pass on it.

It was only when I started to read the thing in full, Anna Andress doing her usual fine job of parsing the bullshit, that I discovered something I had missed previously. To say I had a WTF moment would be somewhat of an understatement, what the fucking fuck doesn't even come close to describing that which I had overlooked.

How any newspaper, no matter how miserable a rag it might be, and no matter how hackneyed the hack that puts their name to it, it is absolutely beyond my comprehension, that a story finds its way into print, a story built totally around a letter, and then includes this.

"I actually burned it because it unnerved me so much."

Un-fucking-believable.

Such contemptible crap just couldn't be ignored, not after experiencing that little wonder, so here's my counter.

Err,it's a bit big kiddywinks, so I have had to split it for it to be read.

Right click, open in new tab, and then click again for full size.

Oh THAT Antonella Lazzeri

Update:

Needless to say, it is equally outrageous that Yeremy Vargas is also written about in this article which attempts to bring suspicion on O'Neill in regard to Madeleine. Even the placement of photographs gives emphasis to Madeleine rather than the woman brutally murdered by Charles O'Neill and William Lauchlan.

In my opinion, this is the worst case of opportunistic victimization by a McCann propagandist (Antonella Lazzeri) to date. more

The one that brought us, among other things, these.

It wasn't my original intention to make yet another post featuring McCann shill, Antonella Lazzeri. Initially the intention was to add this little piece below as an update to my previous post. That intention however changed when I took on the most unenviable of tasks, opening the links from the previous post and spending an hour or two reading the shamelessly biassed drivel written by our aforementioned shill, Antonella Lazzeri.

How things *do* change...

I am still attempting to find anything credible that even remotely links Charles O'Neill to Madeleine McCann. It certainly appears as though every article written about the "potential" link stems from a few that came directly from the pen of Antonella Lazzeri. more

Whilst wading though the cesspit of Lazzeri's journalistic achievements, far from a pleasant experience I assure you, in that distasteful process I came across the three graphics above.

Finding them wasn't novel or a revelation, I had seen them on publication; and though they were ripe for exploitation I just couldn't go near them. Now as then, they are still too offensive and distasteful to work with; they give me all kinds of problems.

Problems that go beyond the offence and beyond the appalling taste, for what these ghastly things represent is but part of the story, part of an incomplete comic strip if you will, by natural progression there has to be more.

Contrary to what some imbeciles would have us believe, small girls don't get abducted so that someone can love them, small girls invariably get abducted for far more sinister reasons, and again the natural progression culminates in the death, after horrors untold, of that same small girl.

But that shitty little rag, the Sun, doesn't seem to have a problem publishing this trash, as equally, shitty little scribbler, Antonella Lazzeri, doesn't have a problem with putting her name to the piece. original Sun article
In a recent exchange of emails that have been published on the net, and in spite of the many column inches of shite she has written, Lazzeri clearly demonstrates her knowledge of the actuality, her knowledge of the facts, is probably much the same as that of her readers, non-existent or flawed at best.

Let us take a brief look at just one part of this exchange.

Although it is the middle one of these three short paragraphs that interests us the most, I have included the other two because it's not every day that you come across three straw men in just two paragraphs.

The first paragraph speaks for itself, it being all straw man. Then we have "Britain's foremost criminologist" in conjunction with it being "completely impossible" for there having been a cover up. Not bad going by anyone's standards.

But it is the bit that I have highlighted that concerns us the most, and I have to remind you, this coming from a woman who purports to be a journalist. The cracker then, the piece de resistance, the jewel in the crown, the magnum opus of Lazerri's journalistic achievement, the worn out mantra of Gerry McCann.

Lazerri writes.

There is absolutely no evidence that Madeleine came to any harm (in the flat.)

I don't know if you recently saw a TV series in which eye witness reports were tested, the differences between what people saw and then recalled was amazing.

There is absolutely no evidence that Madeleine came to any harm in the flat, Britain's foremost criminologist who I interviewed said it was completely impossible for so many people to have covered up Madeleine's death and lied about the abduction and to have kept it up for so long.

I feel very sorry for the McCanns to have lost a child is terrible, to then have such horrible, vile things put about them on the internet is just not human. As for myself, I am not paid by them, or Clarence Mitchell or anyone else apart from my newspaper. source
So Madeleine didn't come to any harm in the flat, and there is no evidence that she has been seriously harmed, in spite of being: (captions from the graphics)

Held by gunman ... artist's impression of scene on French motorway when a man
brandishing a gun threatened a lorry driver who saw him with a half-naked little blonde girl

Dragged to airport ... our recreation of the sighting of a child like Maddie being forced
along the road to Faro airport in Portugal on the night she disappeared 60 miles away

'Little elf' in pyjama top ... a witness described a scene like this near Murcia, Spain, just 12 days after Madeleine vanished in 2007. A scruffy man orders a lookalike from a shop

So what are we being asked to believe here, Madeleine didn't come to any harm in the apartment? and Daddy keeps insisting, that in spite of being abducted by evil paedos, "It will be clear to everyone now, that there is absolutely no evidence that suggests Madeleine has been seriously harmed."

So if we are believe this, then it must be just a case of finding the girl, but here's the rub, it takes loadsamoney to facilitate such a search, so can I ask you to keep donating, and if you haven't done so already, please do.

And should you be at a loss as to where you can do this, let me direct you to the website of Leicestershire Constabulary, who, I will have you know, "provide a second to none police service," you can find a link there.

George Orwell

IT IS not my primary job to discuss the details of contemporary politics, but this week there is something that cries out to be said. Since, it seems, nobody else will do so, I want to protest against the mean and cowardly attitude adopted by the British press towards the recent rising in Warsaw..............

........I cannot discuss here why it is that the British intelligentsia, with few exceptions, have developed a nationalistic loyalty towards the U.S.S.R. and are dishonestly uncritical of its policies. In any case, I have discussed it elsewhere. But I would like to close with two considerations which are worth thinking over.

First of all, a message to English left-wing journalists and intellectuals generally: ‘Do remember that dishonesty and cowardice always have to be paid for. Don’t imagine that for years on end you can make yourself the boot-licking propagandist of the Soviet régime, or any other régime, and then suddenly return to mental decency. Antonella Lazzeri's Long List of Shame

Perhaps not so much with our intrepid reporter, she being quite blatant and seemingly shameless about the drivel she writes, but as is often the case, it's only when a list is made does it give us cause to say, hey up! what's going on here?

Never more the case than, Antonella Lazzeri's Long List of Shame.

Antonella Lazzeri Once a Journalist Always a Whore

Not unlike the writer of the article below, I too feel I do a disservice to the truth and to the written word in describing Antonella Lazzeri as a journalist.

If you only follow the one link in the article from Newsoutlines, then click on the "She has written about the McCanns" link. It's quite a list, to say nothing of an agenda.

Journalism in the Age of McCann

Topping the list of those I consider to be a disgrace to the journalistic profession is Antonella Lazzeri, who I'm not even certain can be labelled a "journalist", nor can I say that the "Sun" is a NEWSpaper. Her coverage of the McCann case is quite simply a disgrace. She has written about the McCanns more than she has written about any other topic and I have not found a single unbiased article. Not one. Her articles about Goncalo Amaral were shameful "Maddie's Leech Cop" "Liar Cop" etc.. She covered the Raymond Hewlett "abductor" claims, writing that Hewlett had "twice seen Maddie" (not clarifying that it was on TV & posters) and she is now covering the "White Van/Gypsies" "abductor" claims. more

Wapping, home of the Sun, where the streets have no shame.

And I mustn't forget the others, but they almost seem like "also rans" in comparison to our featured slag.

Kate: God Love Her, Her Sun, and Her Sun's Whores

And nobody said a word.

Kate: Our 1,000 days without Maddie

MADELEINE McCann's parents will today mark a THOUSAND days since she vanished - with a vow NEVER to give up searching for her.

Doctors Kate and Gerry are to host a fundraising dinner as a thousand lanterns are poignantly released into the sky around the world.
Anguished Kate, 41, will tell guests in London how she struggles to even say the landmark number. Opening her heart, the mum, of Rothley, Leics, admits in her speech: "It's difficult sometimes to understand how we've been able to keep going and survive without Madeleine."
The event bears the poignant title: "Still Missing, Still Missed: An Evening for Madeleine". She was three when she vanished on a 2007 holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
Vowing to "turn every stone" her mum will declare: "We will never give up on Madeleine." Poet Simon Armitage will unveil a specially-written sonnet entitled The Beacon. The grim anniversary comes as a SECOND vile book - Faked Abduction - accuses the McCanns of lying about Maddie's disappearance.
Brit Steve Marsden repeats claims in a book by ex-Portuguese cop Goncalo Amaral. Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "Everything Mr Marsden alleges is entirely untrue."Sun

Poem for Maddie

By ANTONELLA LAZZERI
THIS is the moving poem Kate and Gerry McCann commissioned to mark today the 1000th day of Maddie being missing.
Poet and playwright Simon Armitage penned the poem called The Beacon after meeting the McCanns.
He told how he talked to Kate about her greatest fears of what had happened to her daughter, saying: "One of the things I talked to Kate about was how difficult it must be to keep out that fear and that doubt and darkness.
"We talked about the night Madeleine went missing, those terrible hours of darkness before it became light again and they could resume the search. It was like meeting in the middle."
Kate and Gerry, both 41, from Rothley, Leicestershire, wrote him several pages of thoughts about their daughter who disappeared on May 3 2007.
He said: "The McCanns are optimistic, I think you can call that optimism hope. They have hope and that's what keeps them going.
"One thing Kate will say is that they don't have any concrete evidence to say that she's dead.
"For as long as that's the case, they have a parent's duty and it's their fierce desire to keep looking for her. And they have faith, they are strong Roman Catholics.
"That sense of lighting a candle, saying a prayer, keeping hope burning - I was trying to tap into that as well."
The father of a ten-year-old daughter Mr Armitage said he felt terrible sympathy for the McCanns.
He said: "Parents can identify with the McCanns losing something that is your whole world, around which things orbit. For most of us it's an unimaginable loss. That's one of the reasons that their story is so powerful."
He says the McCanns have described the poem as "beautiful" and have told Mr Armitage that it captures many of their feelings and the issues around the loss of their daughter.
A handwritten copy of the poem will be auctioned at the celebrity dinner being hosted by the McCanns tonight.
The last line is inspired by the iconic photo of Maddie aged three and the candle kept burning in the square in Rothley.
Mr Armitage said the line "Somewhere out there there has to be life", reflects the McCanns' hope that their daughter may still be alive.
He said: "They have hope and that's what keeps them going."
The Beacon
Dusk, doubt, the growing depth of an evening sky, dark setting in as it did that night, the forever vastness of outer space reflecting the emptiness here inside, shadowing, colouring, clouding the mind.
But somewhere out there there has to be life, the distance only a matter of time, a world like our own, its markings and shades as uniquely formed as a daughter's eye, distinctly flecked, undeniably hers, looking back this way through the miles and years to a lantern cupping a golden blaze, its candle alive with a fierce blonde flame for the thousandth time, for as long as it takes.Sun

What unmitigated fucking drivel.

“Kate will be at her fundraising night in London – God love her, she’s worked so hard on that – but there will also be a lantern release in Rothley.”

Mummy mummy, nights left alone

Searching forever until I am grown

Why do you lie about what happened that night?

The night when I died in the dark without light.

We were so afraid but you just did not care

Much more important to wash your blonde hair

Now daddy and you are both very rich

For an IVF baby...life sure is a Bitch.
